Day 1

Robert WintersAGENDA

Robert Winters, CMO of Shenick, and the seminar's moderator opened proceedings by welcoming the group. Robert's main concern was handing loaded guns to Shenick's customers! 








Alan RobinsonKEYNOTE ADDRESS

Alan Robinson, CEO of Shenick, followed on from Robert's opening comments by highlighting the global presence of the group. Alan also highlighted some of Shenick's milestones and awards received in 2008. 

 





Steve HawleyANALYST OVERVIEW

Steve Hawley, Analyst from TVStrategies, opened proceedings proper by presenting an analysts perspective to IPTV on a global basis. Some of the key highligts from Steve's presentation included a global status or review of IPTV deployments, along with current trends and future developments





Kevin Glavin

A HISTORY OF TELECOMS

Kevin Glavin, CTO of Shenick, presented an interesting and historical 200 year perspective on the world of telecommunications. Kevin also gave his perspective on the future uses of IP networks.








Ultan Kelly

IP VIDEO TEST STRATEGIES

Ultan Kelly, Director of Product Development at Shenick, presented on the deployment test strategies for IP Video. Other presentations from Ultan included a product roadmap.







Damien Nalty

PRODUCT DEMONSTRATIONS

Damien Nalty, Senior SE at Shenick, presented product features for diversifEye and servicEye, Damien explained the fundamental principles of per flow performance emulation and measurements on diversifEye, Damien also covered Event Analysis and Handling of Video Stream errors.








Andreas Metz

IRT 

Andreas Metz of IRT, presents the challenges that broadcasters face today. Andreas presents the limitations of IP technology for the live contribution of broadcast TV.








Jon Linden

PROCERA

Jon Linden of Procera, presents Deep Packet Inspection Devices. In his presentation Jon dismisses the myths that DPI is a disruptive technology. Jon goes on to present how the end user will be the winner.







Day 2

Carsten RossenhoevelEANTC

Carsten Rossenhoevel, CEO of EANTC, presented the evolving role of DPI and some of his findings of P2P signatures. Carsten also discussed EANTCS findings in relation to the DPI equipment tested.








Bostjan GrasicISKRATEL

Bostjan Grasic of Iskratel, outlined the products available today from Iskratel. Bostjan went onto outline how diversifEye was used in the test of Triple Play services under extreme conditions which included security attack mitigation.








Mr. Yanxiang ChenT-Home

Mr. Yanxiang Chen, Test Lab Manager of T-Home, presented IPTV and Triple Play test scenarios. Mr. Chen outlined the versatility of the diversifEye and the potential uses in a range of test scenarios.








Tammy CookCIENA

Tammy Cook, Director P&T. Global System Test and Engineering Services of Ciena, presented TWAMP or Two Way Active Measurement Protocol. Tammy highlighted the efficiency of Shenick to deliver on new protocols.








Mr. ZhangSHANGHAI TELECOM

Mr. Zhang, from Shanghai Telecom, outlined his experiences in testing and delivering quality on IPTV services.








Kyle PlattsADTRAN

Kyle Platts, Senior SE of Adtran, explained how he uses diversifEye in trouble shooting networks. Kyle went on to explain some of the strange test scenarios he has been involved in, not to mention his fishing experience!








Alan SheehanDIGISOFT

Alan Sheehan, Head of Delivery at Digisoft, gave his perspective on quality and the importance of quality in the delivery of advanced video services.
